Yesterday, more than sixty business and institutional representatives gathered at the headquarters of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Spain in Casablanca for the conference. The event was organised by the Provincial Council of Seville through Prodetur, in collaboration with the Confederation of Employers of Seville (CES), the Seville City One association and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce based in Casablanca.

Those participating in the event included Rodrigo Rodríguez Hans, vice-president of Prodetur; Abdelghani Elbahy, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce in Casablanca; Pilar Mena, head of Institutional Relations at Sevilla City One; and Manuel Cornax, vice-president of the CES. The event took the form of a business lunch with dynamic presentations.

Rodríguez Hans thanked the business and institutional entities in attendance for their interest in ‘learning more’ about the province of Seville. “We feel honoured, and this encourages us to continue strengthening ties between our territories.”

“Seville is a land of opportunities. A dynamic, modern and connected province that is firmly committed to innovation, sustainability and talent. Our strategic position in southern Europe, our infrastructures, a solid business ecosystem and public-private collaboration make Seville an ideal place to invest and do business”, said the vice-president of Prodetur.

Strategic province for investment

During the conference, Seville was presented as a strategic province for investment in southern Europe, highlighting its geographical position, productive fabric, connectivity and logistics offer and high-capacity infrastructures.

The meeting was attended by more than 60 Moroccan companies from more than ten key sectors, which, according to Rodríguez Hans, ‘demonstrates the transversal interest of Moroccan businessmen in establishing commercial and investment links with Seville’. Among the sectors represented were: banking and financial services, energy and renewables, agri-food, construction and real estate, transport and logistics, metallurgy and heavy industry, technology and electronics, and aeronautics and defence, among others.

“We thank all this broad Moroccan business representation for their interest in establishing partnerships and learning about investment opportunities in Seville and its province. For our part, we reiterate our commitment to continue promoting business cooperation between Seville and Morocco as a strategic axis between Europe and Africa,” said the vice president of Prodetur.

Seville, the Metropolis of Southern Europe

The event, which was attended by nearly 100 companies from the aerospace and renewable energy sectors, among others, and investors and investment funds, was also attended by Pilar Mena Fernández, head of Institutional Relations Sevilla City One Association, and Manuel Cornax Campa, vice president of the Confederation of Employers of Seville (CES).

Pilar Mena Fernández stressed in her speech that: “Seville is consolidating its position as an international, innovative and sustainable metropolis, with a dynamic economy and strategic sectors such as aerospace, clean energy and technology. From the public-private initiative Sevilla City One, we promote visibility, dialogue, innovation and investment to position our metropolitan area as a key destination in southern Europe”.

He added: “Our participation in this event in Casablanca seeks to strengthen historical ties and create new alliances that strengthen cooperation between the two cities. We invite Moroccan companies, institutions and entrepreneurs to explore the opportunities that Seville offers as a platform to grow together towards a shared future.
