The Regional Minister for Development, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Government of Andalusia, Rocío Díaz, held a working meeting this Monday with the Board of Directors of Sevilla City One, Metropolis of Southern Europe, with the aim of reviewing progress and challenges related to the sustainable urban transformation of Seville and its metropolitan area.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General for Housing, Alicia Martínez, and the Director General for Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and the Urban Agenda, José Andrés Moreno, who outlined the main milestones achieved in territorial planning and the strategic projects currently underway promoted by the Regional Ministry.

On behalf of Sevilla City One, its President Rafael Miranda presented a detailed overview of the initiatives developed by the platform in recent years, highlighting public–private collaboration as a key pillar for accelerating the sustainable, connected and competitive city model pursued by the project. He also outlined the 2026 Action Plan, which includes new activities and lines of work aligned with metropolitan strategies for mobility, spatial planning and urban regeneration.

Among the areas of cooperation highlighted during the meeting, Miranda emphasized the strong alignment with initiatives led by the Regional Ministry, such as the Seville Metropolitan Transport Plan, as well as other actions aimed at improving connectivity, modernizing infrastructure and promoting balanced and resilient urban development.

Sevilla City One is actively working to strengthen Seville’s positioning as one of the most innovative, efficient and sustainable metropolises in southern Europe, by driving transformative projects, fostering talent and digitalization, and promoting a shared strategic vision among public administrations, businesses and civil society.
